SEVCA Head Start
Head Start is a federally funded, collaborative preschool program that provides services to all children (ages 3-5), including children with disabilities and non-English speaking families, and families in Windsor County. Please note children must be 3 by September 1st. Head Start is a comprehensive program offering services in child development, nutrition, health, and parent involvement to children and families. Head Start believes a parent is the most important influence on their child’s development. Research tells us the involvement of parents in their child’s lives is key to their child’s academic success.
This is why parent involvement is the foundation of our Head Start Program. Parents have many opportunities throughout the year to participate:
• Policy Council
• Home Visits
• Monthly Parent Meetings
• Classes/Workshops
• Discussion Groups/Conferences
• Field trips
Through these opportunities parents can learn about the needs of their child & educational opportunities for themselves.

Head Start is a federally funded preschool program that is offered at no cost to families that meet the eligibility requirements.
We offer comprehensive services for children and families regarding health, nutrition, education, and parent engagement.
Children and families are connected to:
• Medical & Dental Homes
• Healthy Meals & Snacks
• Services for Children & Families with disabilities
• Services for non-English speaking families
• Access to indoor and outdoor play in a safe environment
• “Hands on” Curriculum; Learning through Play
• Hearing & Vision Screens are also offered to enrolled children
Head Start focuses on the individual needs of each child and their family.
