Position Overview:
SEVCA seeks a strategic, compassionate, and compliance-focused Human Resources Director to oversee all HR operations. The HR Director will align HR initiatives with organizational goals, drive talent management, ensure compliance with employment laws, and foster a healthy, inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership on staffing, recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and health and safety strategies.
- Oversee HR programs related to compensation, benefits, employee wellness, training, and performance management.
- Lead recruitment efforts, develop talent management protocols, and coordinate job postings.
- Conduct analysis of organizational trends and ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review and modify policies to maintain compliance and align with best practices.

Position Overview:
The Director of Development and Communications provides organizational leadership to ensure SEVCA’s crucial work is sustained in the short and long term. The Director will lead all facets of Development efforts, as well as ensuring that we are effectively communicating our work. Success in this position will be with someone who can forge strong relationships with SEVCA’s community of supporters and funders, identify strategic areas of funding and opportunity, and effectively communicate the impact SEVCA has on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position is primarily accountable for increasing the level of agency resources, under the direction and guidance of the Executive Director.
- Responsible for increasing public awareness of the agency and its work and cultivating the agency’s image and standing in the community.
Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience with demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of individual donor identification, solicitation and cultivation, direct mail appeals, fundraising events, grant writing, public relations, and/or other development activities. Extensive and equivalent work and/or life experience enabling the development and application of the essential needed competencies, and the ability and willingness to learn the specific skills required, may be substituted for some or all of the specific required experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, English, Communications or other relevant field, or significant progress toward degree completion, and/or equivalent work/life experience.
- Ability and willingness to ask people for financial contributions, expertise, access to personal networks, and involvement with the organization.
- Exceptional written, interpersonal, networking and public speaking/ambassador skills.
- Proficiency in the use of fundraising databases, word processing, and other pertinent software packages.
- Knowledge of corporate, foundation, and public funding sources.

Position Overview: Assists Finance Director & Department Managers with creating & monitoring budgets. Provides financial data through research and analysis and keeps everyone informed of new grants and requirements. Prepares for annual external audit, and state and federal grant reviews and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs I oversees finance, accounting, and reporting activities, including: GL management, account reconciliation, cash I revenue receipt processing, depreciation, accruals, accounts receivable, adjusting journal entries, monthly closings, post-award grant accounting & compliance, accurate & timely submission of financial reports, and orderly closure of projects I grants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of 3 years' related experience, including some in nonprofit fund accounting with multiple grants & revenue sources
- Strong background working in a nonprofit finance office environment and with grant accounting I management preferred. Payroll and HR experience a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal & organizational skills, and computer literacy.

Family Services
Employment Type: Full-time position.
Salary: $41,600-$47,800 per year. Benefits.
Location: Based in Springfield.
Position Overview:
SEVCA is currently seeking a community-minded individual to join our Family Services team in our Springfield office. This individual will work directly with low-income clients to assess their needs and help resolve crisis situations by providing application assistance, coordinating community services, providing information, referrals and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer advocacy, information, and referrals to help clients avoid eviction, obtain safe and affordable housing and keep their homes heated by accessing necessary resources.
- Establish and maintain positive liaisons with community resources and other agencies.
- Collaborate effectively with the Family Services team
Qualifications:
- Experience in human services-related field preferred.
- Possess excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills
- Some knowledge of the community and its resources, along with the ability to expand and organize that knowledge to better serve clients.
- Strong communication, interpersonal & organizational skills, and computer literacy.

Employment Type: Full-time, 4-day week, 10-hour days.
Position Overview:
Installing energy-saving measures in homes of low-income residents.
The ideal candidate will have construction and/or building science knowledge, dependability, and problem-solving skills. Construction & insulating experience preferred but not required.
