SEVCA Head Start Offers a Nurturing Early Childhood Education for Children Ages 3 to 5
No-cost preschool pairs full-day learning with healthy meals and medical and dental support
SPRINGFIELD, VT: (October 13, 2026) — SEVCA Head Start offers Windsor County families an early childhood option unlike any other: full-day preschool paired with healthy meals, medical and dental support, resources for the whole family, with educational and play based indoor and outdoor classrooms. Head Start is available at no cost for qualifying Vermont families based on income and serves children who turn 3 by September 1, 2026. Enrollment is open now.
The years before kindergarten build the foundation for school and for life. In Head Start, children develop early language and literacy skills and learn to listen, share, and manage social / emotional health, so they start kindergarten confident and ready. Head Start also makes sure children are well fed and connected to the medical and dental care they need to grow and learn.
“Every child deserves a strong start, and the years before kindergarten are when that start happens. For families who qualify, Head Start is no cost. If you have a 3- or 4-year-old, call us now. We have a spot waiting for your child.”
— Lori Canfield, Head Start Director, SEVCA
